Making Your Move Go Smoothly…

On Moving Day:

  • Complete all packing prior to your move. The movers will not pack your items or have packing material on the truck unless you scheduled a pack in advance.
  • Reserve all elevators, loading docks or parking areas for the estimated time of your move.
  • Be on hand to answer questions and direct the placement of furniture and items. A floor plan taped to the door indicating where boxes and furniture should be placed will greatly facilitate the unloading. To save time and money, you can put all the boxes in one ground floor room or in the garage in 4-foot stacks with the heaviest boxes on the bottom, and have the movers do the same at the new house. This will decrease the cost of your move and make unpacking them less of a mess.
  • Payment is expected at the completion of your move. The crew leader will prepare a Bill of Lading with your total cost and will accept payment in: cash, local check, certified check, MasterCard/Visa/American Express.

Factors That Effect The Cost Of Your Move:

  • How prepared you are
  • Availability of customer during the move
  • Decisiveness of customer
  • Relative amount of furniture
  • Relative amount of boxes
  • Distance from the front door to the truck
  • Stairs/Elevator
  • Distance moved from Point A to Point B
  • Movement of unusual items
  • Weather conditions
