Making Your Move Go Smoothly…

Choosing A Mover:
Moving companies provide a variety of services for a range of fees. It is a good idea to talk with different movers to compare their services (not only their prices). To find out who the best movers are in your area, begin by asking friends about their experiences with the movers they used. You can also check with the Better Business Bureau or other consumer organizations in your area.

Make sure all movers you interview are licensed and insured. All local movers should charge in the same price range and they have to offer a basic insurance at no charge and 2-additional insurances that you can purchase. If one mover is much less expensive then the others you might want to check their credentials/experience and background (they will probably try to make up for the lower hourly rate with a hidden charge).

Once you have complied a list of movers ask them about the type of services they offer (make sure they know all your moving needs at this time). Also ask them for a written estimate explaining all the charges. Then carefully compare to see which mover best suits your needs and budget. Remember, cheaper is not always better. Like all customer service type business’s you get what you pay for.

When you choose your mover, be sure to understand:

  • The rates and charges that will apply
  • The movers liability for your belongings
  • How pick up and delivery will work
  • What the movers can & cannot move
  • If they use full time employees
  • Are they a local company or based from another city
  • Is there a penalty for rescheduling
  • What type of payment is required
